Aubrey Plaza House: The Los Feliz Home She Sold in 2026

In this article

Aubrey Plaza sold her Los Feliz house in September 2026, closing a sale that had taken a year and several price reductions to complete. She and her husband, the writer and director Jeff Baena, had bought the 1928 Spanish-style compound in October 2022 for $4.7 million. Baena died in January 2025, and the house went on the market that September.

It sold for less than they paid. The final figure has been reported at between $4.375 million and $4.4 million, against an opening asking price of $6.5 million.

This guide sets out the property, the sale and its timeline, and what is and is not known about where she lives now, without going further into circumstances that are not a property matter.

Who is Aubrey Plaza?

Aubrey Plaza is an American actress and producer, born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1984. She became widely known as April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation, and has since built a considerably broader body of work including Ingrid Goes West, Black Bear, Emily the Criminal, which she also produced, the second season of The White Lotus, and Agatha All Along.

She was married to Jeff Baena, a writer and director with whom she had been in a relationship since 2011 and who directed several of her films. He died in January 2025. The house discussed here is the one they bought together and lived in.

The Los Feliz compound

The property dates to 1928 and is a Spanish-style compound set behind gates on a private double lot in Los Feliz, the hillside neighbourhood on the eastern side of Los Angeles that has held a steady population of actors and directors for a century.

Listing material described four bedrooms, a screening room, a wine cellar, a swimming pool, an oversized steam room and a substantial sound system. A double lot is the significant detail: in Los Feliz, where plots are generally narrow and steep, having two of them combined gives a level of privacy that is difficult to buy at any price.

It is a period house of real character rather than a large new build, which is consistent with the neighbourhood and with the kind of buyer Los Feliz attracts. The sale, and why it took a year

Plaza listed the house in September 2025 at $6.5 million, roughly $1.8 million above what the couple had paid three years earlier.

That price did not hold. The property went through repeated reductions across the following year, and reporting refers to a handful of deals that failed to complete along the way. By July 2026 the asking price had come down to $4.9 million. The sale finally closed in early September 2026.

The closing figure is reported inconsistently. The Real Deal and Variety-sourced coverage put it at $4.375 million; TMZ reported $4.4 million. Either way it is below the $4.7 million purchase price, a shortfall of roughly $300,000 to $325,000 before agent commissions, transfer costs and anything spent on the house in the intervening years. The real loss is larger than the headline gap.

The initial $6.5 million ask was the problem. A house bought for $4.7 million in late 2022, listed at nearly forty per cent more in a slower market three years later, was always likely to need a long correction, and it got one.

Where does Aubrey Plaza live now?

The public record does not establish it.

What is known is that she no longer owns the Los Feliz house, the sale having completed in September 2026, and that no subsequent purchase by her has been reported anywhere. There is no listing, deed, or mainstream report identifying a current home.

Her work continues to be based principally in Los Angeles, and nothing suggests she has left the city, but that is context rather than evidence of an address. Given how recent the sale is, the most likely position is simply that she has not bought anything yet, or has bought quietly through an entity that has not surfaced. Neither can be stated as fact.

This article does not speculate about her circumstances beyond the property record. The relevant, verifiable facts are that she owned a house in Los Feliz with her husband, that she sold it in 2026 for less than they paid, and that where she has gone since is not public.
