We research from public records and published reporting, and those sources are sometimes wrong, incomplete, or out of date. When an article on Homes Archives is inaccurate, we fix it, and we say that we fixed it.
Our Editorial Policy explains how we research and verify an article before it is published.
1. What We Do
Not every change to an article is a correction. We treat three things differently.
Correction — a factual error: a wrong sale price, an incorrect owner, a misidentified property, a wrong date. We fix the text and add a dated correction note at the foot of the article explaining what was wrong.
Clarification — the facts were right, but the wording was open to being misread. We rewrite the passage and add a dated note.
Update — the article was accurate when published, but circumstances have changed: the property sold again, a renovation completed, a listing was withdrawn. We add the new information with its date and leave the original reporting intact.
2. What We Do Not Do
We do not silently edit an article to remove an error. If the record changes, the article shows that it changed.
We do not remove an article simply because its subject dislikes it. Requests that concern privacy or safety are handled separately, and are described in section 5 below.
3. How to Report an Error
Email info@homesarchives.com with:
- The URL of the article
- The specific passage you believe is wrong
- What the correct information is
- A source we can check, where you have one
That last point matters. We correct against sources rather than assertions — including our own.
4. How Quickly We Respond
- We acknowledge every correction request within 2 business days.
- We resolve it within 5 business days.
If a claim takes longer than that to verify, we will tell you so, and tell you when to expect an answer.
5. Privacy and Safety Requests
A request to remove information for privacy or safety reasons is not a correction, and we treat it more urgently.

6. Copyright Complaints
Copyright complaints, including those concerning images, follow the DMCA procedure set out in our Terms and Conditions. We respond to these within 5 business days.
