Daniel Craig House: Primrose Hill, the $11.8M Cobble Hill Sale and an Upstate Farmhouse

In this article

The Daniel Craig house that matters most is in London. Since 2008, he has owned a Grade II-listed Victorian terraced house in Primrose Hill, which he shares with his wife, Rachel Weisz, and which has drawn more planning paperwork than publicity. For almost a decade, the couple also kept a townhouse in Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill. They sold it in March 2026 for $11.8 million, a year after selling the house next door, and reports framed the two sales as a shift back to London. A third property, a 1785 stone farmhouse in upstate New York, remains in the family.

The Primrose Hill House in London

Craig bought the house in 2008, three years before he married Weisz, for a reported £6 million. It is a Victorian terraced house built in the early 1840s, listed at Grade II and set inside the Primrose Hill conservation area, so almost any change to it needs council approval. Reports describe it as a four-storey, five-bedroom home.

Its public record is a series of planning decisions:

Primrose Hill, in planning files

  1. 2008Craig buys the house ~£6M
  2. 2017A neighbour asks for a 65-ft tree on the property to come down, blaming its roots for damage; the council refuses and puts a protection order on the trees
  3. 2023Plans to replace a “poorly constructed” conservatory with a rear extension and balcony draw objections; officers first say it would not suit the house, then approve it
  4. First tryA bid for front security gates is refused as out of keeping with the conservation area
  5. April 2025A revised gate scheme is approved as harmless to the historic fabric and easily reversible

The gates are the telling detail. Neighbours had reported strangers wandering into front gardens and cars stopping in driveways, the kind of attention that follows a former James Bond to a quiet residential street. This page does not give the street.

The Daniel Craig House in Brooklyn: Cobble Hill

In August 2017, the couple paid $6.75 million for a landmarked brownstone in Cobble Hill. It had been the home of the novelist Martin Amis and the writer Isabel Fonseca, and a New Year’s Eve fire had badly damaged its top floor shortly before the sale. Craig and Weisz rebuilt it as a family house; their daughter, Grace, was born in 2018.

Reports differ on the details: four or five storeys, 6,000 or 6,600 square feet, and 2017 or 2018 for the purchase. The figures here follow the majority of coverage.

They later owned the townhouse next door as well. That one sold in February 2025 for $4.05 million, and the main house followed off-market, closing on March 31, 2026, for $11.8 million. Before renovation costs, which have not been disclosed, the main house gained about $5 million in under nine years.

The Upstate Farmhouse

The quietest of the family’s homes is in Marbletown, in Ulster County, New York. Weisz bought it in 2008 for $2.1 million: a four-bedroom stone farmhouse built in 1785 on 124 acres. Coverage of the Brooklyn sales says it is being kept, so the couple’s New York foothold is now rural rather than urban.

Why They Left Brooklyn

Reporting on the 2026 sale said London is now the couple’s priority. Craig hinted at the reason in a 2024 interview with The New York Times, saying that with a young child at home he did not want to be away as much as he had been. Selling both Brooklyn houses, keeping the farmhouse and staying put in the London house he has owned for nearly two decades fits that.

Another former Bond chose a very different setting; Pierce Brosnan’s Malibu house is the opposite of a listed London terrace. For another star whose London home sits at the centre of a wider portfolio, see David Beckham’s London, Cotswolds and Miami homes.
