Callum Turner House: Dua Lipa’s London Basement Rebuild and His World’s End Roots

By Daniel Harper

In this article

There is no Callum Turner house in his own name on public record. The home most often tied to the actor is the London property his wife, Dua Lipa, bought in 2020, a house in north-west London that is still a building site in 2026 because of a large basement extension. Until that work finishes, reported for July 2027, the couple are renting a place nearby.

The other address that matters to his story is the one he grew up in: a council flat on the World’s End estate in Chelsea.

The reported finish date for the London house Callum and Dua Lipa plan to move into.

The London House Dua Lipa Bought in 2020

Dua Lipa bought the property in 2020, roughly four years before she and Callum started dating in January 2024. Brit Brief places it in West Hampstead. The purchase price varies by outlet: EntertainmentNow, citing the Daily Mail, gives £6.75M, while Brit Brief rounds it to £6 million. One syndicated report put the price higher still, but no outlet links any of these figures to a sale record, so treat them as reported purchase prices rather than confirmed ones.

The house sits in a designated conservation area, which explains much of what happened next.

A Three-Year Planning Fight and a Mega Basement

Her team applied for planning permission in 2021. A local neighbourhood forum objected, and conservation groups raised concerns about lost green space, the trees on the plot and drainage. Approval took about three years, and construction only started in 2024.

The approved plan is mostly underground. According to the Daily Mail’s reporting, as summarized by EntertainmentNow and Brit Brief, the new basement covers about 310 square metres, roughly four times the size of the old one, and holds a swimming pool, a gym, a cinema and a music studio. A biodiverse roof garden goes on top of it.

The renovation in numbers

Reported purchase£6M to £6.75M (2020)
Basement sizeAbout 310 sq m
Excavation depthAt least 6 metres
Soil removedAbout 500 tonnes
Historic trees on site17
Estimated works costAbout £3M

The digging is slow by design. Crews have to go at least six metres down while protecting 17 historic trees around the site, and about 500 tonnes of soil had been taken out by mid-2026. Brit Brief reported around 20 builders on site. Neighbours have also worried about subsidence and flooding, and machinery has to be fitted with anti-vibration isolators as a planning condition.

The £3 million cost figure is an estimate from design expert Leigh Ann Raines, quoted by the Daily Mail, not a number from the singer’s team.

Where Does Callum Turner Live Now?

As of the latest reports in June and July 2026, Callum and Dua Lipa are renting a home close to the building site while the works continue, BANG Showbiz reported. No outlet has named or described the rental. The pair married on 31 May 2026 at Old Marylebone Town Hall, with a second celebration in Sicily a week later, so the finished house would be their first permanent home as a married couple.

Work makes the picture less fixed than one London address suggests. Callum has filmed in Europe and the US for years, from the Fantastic Beasts films to Masters of the Air and Eternity, which co-starred Miles Teller, whose Pacific Palisades renovation we covered here.

The Marbella mansion story is unconfirmed

Reports traced to The Sun said the couple were viewing Spanish homes around Marbella priced between £3 million and £9 million. They rest on an unnamed insider, and no purchase has been reported.

Callum Turner House History: Growing Up on the World’s End Estate

Callum was born in Hammersmith in 1990 and raised in Chelsea by his single mother, Rosemary, a club promoter. Glass Magazine described his childhood home as the World’s End estate off Edith Grove, at the western end of the King’s Road.

The estate is a well-known piece of London council housing: red brick brutalist towers designed by Jim Cadbury-Brown and Eric Lyons and built in the early 1970s, replacing rows of Victorian terraces. It is a long way, in every sense, from a pool and cinema under a conservation-area garden.

The neighbourhood shaped him. He supported Chelsea as a boy, had Chelsea wallpaper in his bedroom and played centre back for a youth team in nearby Fulham before acting took over. Glass came away with the sense that he “won’t stray too far from the World’s End.”
