Crystal Harris House: The $5M Hollywood Hills Home, a Hawaii Tiny House and a 2026 Listing

Crystal Harris, who has gone by Crystal Hefner since marrying Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in 2012, splits her life between Los Angeles and a 290-square-foot tiny house on about six and a half acres on Hawaii island, which she bought in 2021. Her property record also includes a modern Hollywood Hills West home Hefner bought in 2013 for about $5 million, which she sold for the same price in 2019, and a smaller Mediterranean-style Hollywood Hills house she put on the market in June 2026 for nearly $3.5 million.

Before Her Own Homes: The Playboy Mansion Years

Any history of the Crystal Harris house record starts somewhere she never owned. During her marriage, she lived with Hefner at the Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills. The mansion belonged to Playboy Enterprises, not to Hefner personally, and that detail shaped everything that followed: according to TMZ, Hefner bought a separate house in 2013 because he worried the company could sell the mansion and leave his wife without a home. In her later memoir, she has described the mansion as moldy and rundown rather than glamorous.

The $5 Million Hollywood Hills West House

The 2013 purchase was a contemporary house in Hollywood Hills West, bought a few months after the wedding. HeraldNet put the price at $4.995 million, and TMZ reported that it was held in trust for the couple. Fox News described it as built in 2011 and “three years in the making.”

The listing described four bedrooms and five bathrooms across 6,471 square feet, though other reports put it closer to 5,900 or 6,000 square feet. Glass walls open the main floor, with a great room, office, dining area and center-island kitchen, to city-light views. Finishes include Italian tile, walnut walls, Jerusalem stone and a butcher-block floating staircase. Upstairs is a primary suite with a free-standing tub; downstairs are a game room and a movie theater. A pool and spa sit at the front, with a turf yard over the hillside at the back.

“In terms of architecture, it’s so different from the Playboy Mansion,” Crystal said of the house. The couple stayed on at the Playboy Mansion, and the house was a rental from 2014, and Fox News reported in 2016 that it was being offered for $32,000 a month.

After Hefner died in September 2017, she became the sole owner and listed the house in January 2018 for $7.2 million. With no buyers after three months, the asking price dropped to just under $6.5 million. It eventually sold for $5 million, reported in January 2019, so she got back what Hefner had paid and nothing more. Jason Oppenheim and Christine Quinn represented the buyer, TMZ reported.

The Tiny House in Hawaii

Her most personal property is on Hawaii island, the largest in the chain. She bought the estate of roughly six and a half acres in 2021 and, instead of building big, put a tiny house from a tiny-house company on it. “I didn’t want a big house because I didn’t want to disrupt the land,” she told HELLO! in 2023, adding that “it’s 290 sq ft, but is set in acres.”

The land is surrounded by waterfalls and looks out to the ocean and cliffs. She called it “a little sanctuary, my slice of paradise,” said she spends much of her time there with her dog, and told the magazine she was retreating to the island every month while keeping a villa in the Hollywood Hills.

The property also became the setting for her next chapter. People reported that marine biologist James Ward, who has lived in Hawaii since 2013, proposed to her at her Hawaii home on April 25, 2025.

Crystal Harris House for Sale in 2026: The Mediterranean Hideaway

In June 2026, TMZ reported that she had listed a Mediterranean-style house in the Hollywood Hills for nearly $3.5 million. That is an asking price, not a sale price, and as of the latest reports no sale has been reported. When or for how much she bought it has not been reported, and TMZ did not say whether this is the villa she mentioned to HELLO! in 2023.

At 2,233 square feet with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, it is about a third the size of the 2013 house. The listing points to walnut hardwood floors, custom cabinetry, artisan tilework, Waterworks fixtures, a chef’s kitchen with Viking appliances and whole-house water and air filtration. Outside are a pool, fountains, a fire pit, a cabana, several outdoor fireplaces and terraces.

Not her house: two claims to ignore

Several auto-generated pages titled after her “house” describe a Chicago Gold Coast residence or a private wing of the Playboy Mansion. No reliable outlet links her to either. Her documented homes are the three above.
