Barrett was born in Brisbane, Queensland, and attended Kenmore State High School there, according to Wikipedia. Her first brush with fame came in 1995, when she was cast on MTV’s The Real World: London, a season filmed with the cast sharing a house in the British capital.
Her acting career later took her to Los Angeles. She married Macht, a Los Angeles native, in 2004. Their daughter, Satine, was born in Los Angeles in August 2007, and Barrett became a naturalized US citizen at a ceremony at the Los Angeles Convention Center in August 2009. Their son, Luca, was born in February 2014.
The Manhattan Years
Macht has said he spent roughly half his life on each coast: he grew up in Los Angeles and lived in New York “for many, many years.” The family was living in Manhattan when the pandemic hit.
That period changed their plans. According to Fox News, which summarized the People interview, Barrett and Macht had already wanted to take their children out of school and homeschool them before COVID-19. Being stuck in Manhattan, Macht said, “just wasn’t doing it for us.”

Where Does Jacinda Barrett Live Now?
After Suits wrapped its ninth and final season in 2019, Macht stepped back from acting. “We decided to explore the world, so we left,” he told People, adding that he keeps the location “under wraps.” He returned only briefly, for three episodes of the spinoff Suits L.A.
That makes the family’s current home one of the more private in the Suits orbit. By contrast, Macht’s former co-star Meghan Markle now lives very publicly in the Montecito estate she shares with Prince Harry.
What Sites Claiming a Jacinda Barrett House Get Wrong
Search for the couple’s home and you will find pages describing a “Gabriel Macht house” in a “serene and exclusive neighborhood,” or stating that the family lives in Los Angeles based on unnamed “public records.” None of them cites a deed, a listing or a news report.

As of the latest reports, no reputable real estate outlet has documented a home purchase or sale by Barrett or Macht. Claims of a current Los Angeles mansion conflict with Macht’s own statement that the family left the US.
