Kendall Jenner’s Architectural Digest home tour did not open every door of her bedroom, but it showed enough to build a style from. The house is described as bohemian with arched hallways and rustic farmhouse touches. Her primary bedroom sitting area has a neon sculpture by Tracey Emin, and spare bedrooms were turned into a glam room and a fitting room. Here is what was reported, and eight ways to borrow it.
What was reported
From Architectural Digest’s 2020 tour as covered by #legend (July 30, 2020). The designers were Kathleen and Tommy Clements and Waldo Fernandez. She has since lived elsewhere; see our Kendall Jenner houses article.
How to read this article
Only the sitting area and the converted bedrooms were reported for the bedroom. Other ideas come from rooms elsewhere in the house, and we say so in each one. How to recreate each idea is ours. Images are AI-generated illustrations, not photos of her home.
1. Hang One Neon Piece in the Sitting Area
From her homeEffort: Low

A neon Tracey Emin sculpture hangs in the primary bedroom sitting area. A single glowing word or line adds personality without clutter, and it doubles as a soft night light. The trick is restraint: one piece, short text, warm color. Placed at eye level while seated, it becomes the focal point of the corner without taking over the room.
Neon-style sign in 3 steps
- 1Choose a short line or word, not a sentence
- 2Pick a warm white LED setting so it does not feel like a shop
- 3Mount it at eye level while seated, beside the chairs
2. Carve Out a Sitting Area
From her homeEffort: Low

The primary bedroom has a separate sitting area, which makes it more than a place to sleep. If your room is smaller, two chairs and a small table at the window give the same effect. Turn the chairs slightly toward each other so the corner reads as a place to talk or read.

3. Turn a Spare Room into a Dressing Room
From her homeEffort: Medium

She converted two bedrooms into a glam room and a fitting room, which she calls her “Hannah Montana” room. The idea behind it is that getting dressed deserves its own space, with room to see clothes and a mirror with good light. You do not need a spare room: a wall of open rails and one full-length mirror makes a fitting corner.
Spare Room vs. Dressing Corner
Spare room
- A whole room turned into a fitting space
- Needs a spare bedroom
Corner
- A freestanding rail and a full-length mirror
- Light in front of the mirror, not behind you
4. Pick One Focal Piece of Art
From her homeEffort: Low

In the living area, a James Turrell light sculpture was the focal point; she said she wanted it that way. The same rule works in a bedroom: one large piece, not many small ones, so the eye knows where to land. A large print or a framed fabric is a budget version.

Large pieceAbove the bed
Aim for about two thirds the width of the headboard.
5. Hang a Matching Pair
From her homeEffort: Low

The tour mentions matching Barbara Kruger paintings in the living area. In a bedroom, a matching pair on either side of a headboard looks intentional and balanced, and it works even with inexpensive prints. The effect depends on keeping them truly identical in size and frame.
Matching pair checklist
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| ✔ Same frame | Different frames break the pair |
| ✔ Same size | Looks balanced either side of the bed |
| ✔ Hung at the same height | Use a level |
6. Repeat an Arch
From her homeEffort: Low

The hallways are arched. You can echo that with an arched mirror or an arched headboard without changing any walls, which softens a boxy room. An arch repeated once or twice reads as a design choice.
One or two arches only
More than two and the room starts to look themed. Choose the mirror or the headboard, not both plus an arched shelf.
7. Mix Rustic Wood with Bohemian Texture
From her homeEffort: Low

The house mixes rustic farmhouse touches with a bohemian feel. In a bedroom, that means a weathered wood piece next to woven textiles and soft linen, in earthy colors. The mix works because the textures are natural, so they sit together without matching.
Three ingredients
Wood
A wood bench
Weathered, not polished.
Weave
A woven rug
Jute or flatweave in earth tones.
Soft
A linen throw
Washed, slightly rumpled.
8. Make a Corner for a Hobby
From her homeEffort: Low

Her former cinema room became a paint and art studio, which she said is a form of therapy. A hobby corner in a bedroom works the same way if it is tidy and contained, so it relaxes you instead of reminding you of unfinished work. The aim is to be able to hide it at night.
Contain the hobby
- 1Pick a small table in a corner
- 2Keep supplies in a lidded box
- 3Close the box at night so the room feels like a bedroom again
Which Look Fits You?
For the least effort, start with ideas 5 and 6, which need only art and a mirror. If your room is large enough, ideas 2 and 8 turn it into more than a place to sleep. If you share a wardrobe and are short on space, idea 3 in its small form fits almost anywhere.
