Malaysia Pargo House: Her First Solo Home in Atlanta and the Foreclosure Claim

By Daniel Harper

In this article

Malaysia Pargo, the longtime Basketball Wives cast member, left Los Angeles for Atlanta and bought a house there that she called “my first home on my own.” That is the one home she has documented herself. No reliable outlet has published a purchase price, size or neighbourhood for it, and the multimillion-dollar mansion figures that circulate online trace back to unsourced, auto-generated pages.

Here is what the record actually shows about the Malaysia Pargo house story, from her Southern California roots to the Atlanta purchase and the foreclosure claim aired on the show in 2023.

Malaysia Pargo’s moves, on the record

  1. 1980Born Laquisha Gilbert in Compton, California
  2. 2006Marries NBA guard Jannero Pargo
  3. 2014Files for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court
  4. 2020Moves her three children to Atlanta and buys her first home on her own
  5. 2023Castmate Jennifer Williams claims on air that the Atlanta home is in foreclosure

From Compton to the NBA Years

Malaysia was born on August 12, 1980, in Compton, California, according to Wikipedia. She married Jannero Pargo in 2006 after four years together, and the couple had three children: Jannero Jr. in 2006 and twins Jayla and Jayden in 2011.

An NBA career meant moving with the team. In an early Ebony interview from her Basketball Wives LA days, she said she kept homes in both Chicago and Los Angeles. Neither address, price nor sale has been reported, so those homes remain a passing mention rather than a documented property.

The couple legally separated in December 2012, and she filed for divorce in Los Angeles County in May 2014. Los Angeles stayed her base while she filmed Basketball Wives LA from 2011 to 2016.

The Malaysia Pargo House in Atlanta

An Atlanta move was already being teased in Basketball Wives season 6 coverage, and by 2020 it was done. Atlanta Black Star reported that she had moved herself and her children from Los Angeles to Atlanta, and that she marked the purchase on Instagram as a personal milestone.

“I have to reflect on a major milestone accomplished. Purchasing my first home on my own.”Malaysia Pargo, on Instagram

The detail fans noticed most was the backyard. In April 2020 she posted a photo of herself and the three kids in the home’s private pool, captioned “Backyard fun.” One follower replied that it was not a backyard but “a resort.” That pool is the only feature of the house she has shown publicly in a way the press picked up.

The move did not end her California work. Atlanta Black Star noted that she still traveled back to California to film the show, effectively splitting her time between the two coasts.

The 2023 Foreclosure Claim

The house came up again on camera in 2023. During a dinner at Jackie Christie’s Ponderosa, castmate Jennifer Williams revealed that the Atlanta home was in foreclosure, Atlanta Black Star reported. Christie told Williams she was wrong to share the information.

Malaysia did not confirm or deny the claim in that coverage. Instead she said she was done with the group “permanently,” citing her mental health, and walked away from the show. No court filing, auction notice or follow-up report has surfaced in reliable outlets, so the foreclosure remains an on-air allegation, not an established fact. Whether she still owns the Atlanta house is not publicly documented as of the latest reports.

About the “$2.5M Buckhead mansion”

Several search results describe a 12,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom Buckhead mansion bought for $2.5 million in 2016. None of those pages cite a listing, deed or news report, and the date contradicts her own 2020 post about buying her first home on her own. Treat the figure as unverified.

Where Does Malaysia Pargo Live Now?

Her last documented home is the Atlanta house she bought around 2020. Since leaving Basketball Wives, she joined the main cast of WE tv’s Bold & Bougie in 2023-2024, but no outlet has reported a new purchase or a confirmed move since then.
