Shanna Moakler House: The Calabasas Home She Sold for $2.1M and the Moves After It

By Daniel Harper

In this article

The only home of Shanna Moakler’s with a documented price is a Mediterranean-style house in The Oaks, a gated community in Calabasas, California. TMZ reported that she bought it for about $1.4 million in 2002 and sold it in March 2016 for about $2.1 million. That was well below the $2.6 million she had reportedly been asking a year earlier.

After that sale the trail is thin. A 2015 report said she was building a new house in Porter Ranch. In October 2025 she said she was in talks to buy back her parents’ former home in Rhode Island, where she grew up.

The Oaks is a gated enclave in Calabasas, the Los Angeles suburb TMZ called “Kardashianville” in its 2016 headline. The neighborhood sits in the same corner of the western San Fernando Valley as Kris Jenner’s Hidden Hills estate. Moakler’s ex-husband, Travis Barker, later married into that family.

According to TMZ, the house measures about 5,200 square feet and has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. Its exterior is Mediterranean-style. No listing descriptions of the interior are on record.

TMZ’s sources put the 2002 purchase at about $1.4 million. That was two years before Moakler married Barker in October 2004. Their MTV reality series Meet the Barkers ran in 2005 and 2006.

A Shared Home After the Divorce

The house kept its place in the family story after the marriage ended. Barker filed for divorce in 2006, and it was finalized in early 2008. Even so, TMZ reported in May 2015 that the former couple had kept living in the Calabasas house part-time for about seven years so they could raise their children together.

That arrangement ended after both were arrested in December 2014 over allegations that they had exchanged threats. TMZ’s sources said Moakler wanted distance from Barker. By then he already had his own place in Los Angeles. She put the house on the market at a $2.6 million asking price.

The Sale: Below the Asking Price, Still a Profit

The Shanna Moakler house did not sell at $2.6 million. TMZ reported in April 2016 that it had closed the month before for about $2.1 million. That was roughly $500,000 under the 2015 ask. Measured against the 2002 purchase price, it still left her a gain of nearly $700,000 before costs. The buyer was not named.

Porter Ranch: The Next Move

When the Calabasas listing surfaced, TMZ’s sources said construction was “almost complete” on a new house for Moakler in Porter Ranch. Porter Ranch is a hillside neighborhood in the northwest San Fernando Valley. No report gave a price, size or completion date for that house, and no later sale record has been reported. So it is unclear whether she still owns it.

Where Does Shanna Moakler Live Now?

As of the latest reports, there is no confirmed current address, and none should be published. What is on record is her plan to return to her roots. Moakler was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and attended Barrington High School before she left for modeling work in Miami, New York and then Los Angeles.

On the October 17, 2025 episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, she said she had been up for The Real Housewives of Rhode Island but was not cast. She described her current connection to the state as a house:

“I’m actually in talks right now on buying it back, so cross fingers for me.”Shanna Moakler, on her parents’ former Rhode Island home, Jeff Lewis Live (October 2025)

Reality Tea, which reported the interview, did not say where the house is or whether a deal closed. Treat it as a stated intention, not a completed purchase. For another Valley-area celebrity sale, see the $20 million Calabasas house Trae Young bought.
