Lara Bingle, who has gone by Lara Worthington since marrying Avatar actor Sam Worthington in December 2014, has only two homes on the public record. The first was a one-bedroom art deco apartment in Darling Point, Sydney, which she bought for $882,000 in 2010 and sold for $875,000 in 2014. The second was a Los Angeles house the couple bought for about $8 million in May 2018 and sold for $8.2 million in May 2021.
Since then, the family has kept its address out of the press. A January 2026 Now To Love profile said the couple split their time between Australia and “their home in the US” with their three sons, without naming a city or a property.

The Darling Point Apartment (2010-2014)
Lara’s first documented home was a small flat, not a house. She bought it in 2010 for $882,000 from interior designer Blainey North, according to property journalist Jonathan Chancellor, writing in June 2014.
The apartment sits in Goomerah Court, an art deco building in the harbourside suburb of Darling Point in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. It is about 65 square metres, with one bedroom, one car space and city and harbour views from most rooms. North’s fit-out included American oak parquetry floors, de Gournay silk wall panels, Kreon lighting and Vola tapware. The building is company title, and the quarterly levy was $2,000 at the time of the sale.
The June 2014 auction did not go to plan. Bidding opened at $825,000 and stopped at $855,000, short of the reserve, so the apartment was passed in. A post-auction offer of $875,000 was accepted that evening, slightly below what Lara had paid four years earlier. Her brother, Josh Bingle, attended the auction on her behalf, and McGrath Estate Agents handled the sale.
The timing lines up with her move abroad: in 2014 she said she was relocating from Sydney to New York.
The Bondi Apartment From Her TV Show
In 2012, Lara moved into an $8 million Bondi apartment for her reality series, Being Lara Bingle, according to her Wikipedia biography. Nothing on record shows that she owned it. Treat it as a filming base, not part of her property history.
Lara Bingle House in Los Angeles (2018-2021)
The biggest property in her history is the Los Angeles house she bought with Sam Worthington. Celebrity Net Worth reports that the couple paid $8 million in May 2018, and that the seller was Simon Kinberg, the X-Men producer and screenwriter. Another listing summary puts the price at about $7.9 million.
The Los Angeles house at a glance
Listing summaries describe a modern house built in 2015 in the Hollywood Hills. It has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms and a separate guesthouse. The descriptions also mention high-ceilinged living rooms, a formal dining room, a primary suite with a private balcony, a pool and spa, landscaped terraces, a wine cellar and a home theater. The guesthouse holds a gym and a sauna.
The couple listed the house in February 2020 for $9.25 million. It took more than a year to sell, and in May 2021 they accepted $8.2 million, about $1 million below the asking price. Virtual Globetrotting names the buyer as Neil Jacobson, a former president of Geffen Records.
The sale came as the family moved back to Sydney in 2021. Now To Love reported that Sam took the lead role of Bo in a Sydney Theatre Company production that year, during the pandemic. That mirrors the path of other Australian stars who went home after years in Hollywood, such as Chris Hemsworth’s move to Byron Bay. For comparison, Chris Evans’ Hollywood Hills home sits in a similar price bracket.
How solid are the Los Angeles figures?
The $8 million purchase, $9.25 million asking price and $8.2 million sale come from Celebrity Net Worth and listing-style summaries, not from a major real estate outlet. The figures agree with each other, but we could not find them in Variety, the Los Angeles Times or a brokerage listing.
Where Does Lara Worthington Live Now?
As of the latest reports, the Worthingtons have no publicly reported home purchase since the 2021 sale. The January 2026 Now To Love piece describes them as dividing their time between Australia and an unnamed US home. It does not identify a property, and the couple rarely discuss their homes or their sons, Rocket, Racer and River.
Her roots are in Sydney’s south. She was born in Caringbah, in the Sutherland Shire, in 1987. Anyone searching for a Lara Bingle house there, however, will find no family home on record.
